Tulsi,
also known as the holy basil or Asian basil
(Ocimum sanctum), a plant from the family of Lamiaceae, has its roots
in India,
where it is considered to be the queen of all herbs and has been used
in
Ayurveda for ages. Tulsi has a beneficial effect on the respiratory
tract and
promotes proper functioning of the immune system. It contains naturally
occurring anti-oxidants, which protect the cells in the body against
free
radicals. Promotes the functioning of the heart. Increases vigour and
resistance to stress.
