Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) - by North American Indians was considered a plant curing all diseases. All in all, it's not much wrong, because with its help you can cope with, among others, Eye infections or inflammation of the mucous membranes. Goldenseal served them to treat all diseases known to them. They used it to bloating and abdominal pain, insect bites and infections.

The main active ingredients responsible for its effective operation are the alkaloids - berberine and hydrastine.  The first one, that is, berberine gives the roots of the herb kind of bright yellow color. Therefore, the Indians and the first settlers arrived from Europe used it as a dye. It also provides the bitter taste of plants.
