5-HTP (5-hydroxy-L-tryptophan) is a naturally occurring metabolite of the amino acid tryptophan. 5-HTP is converted in the brain to serotonin, an important neurotransmitter, which is located at the junctions (synapses) between neurons.

5-HTP helps to maintain mental health, well-being and is an ally of good sleep.

5 HTP increases serotonin levels, balances mood swings and helps depression. In addition, it shortens the time needed sleep (extending REM), reduces appetite, thus helping to lose weight, reduce tolerance to pain and is a natural anti-migraine. By raising levels of serotonin, depression eased in quite a natural way.

5-HTP is extracted from the seeds of African black bean (Griffonia simplicifolia).
